FBC Soperton Student Ministry

Student Ministry at FBCS

"Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.                              For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me."

                                                                                - Colossians 1:28-29

We love students at FBC Soperton! We believe that they are fearfully and wonderfully created by God, in His image (Psalm 139:14 / Genesis 1:26-27).

Sadly though, because of our first parents’ sin (Genesis 3), we have inherited their sinful nature (Romans 5:12) and that our sin separates us from God (Romans 3:23 / Ephesians 2:12), leads to death (Romans 6:23), and causes us to need a Savior.

God, in a demonstration of His great love for us, provided a Savior for us in the person of Jesus Christ, His son, who came to earth, lived a sinless life, and died a perfect death on a Roman cross and rose from the grave, defeating death so that we could trust in Him and be saved from our sins. (John 3:16-17 / Hebrews 1:1-4 / Romans 5:6-11)

Jesus is the only way that sinful man can be saved and brought back into relationship with a holy God. (John 14:6 / Acts 4:12)

Because we believe and teach these things, we have a two-fold mission in this student ministry:

1. We understand the need that students have for a Savior and we teach and love these students with the goal of pointing them to Jesus as their Savior.

2. We understand the need that students who have accepted Jesus as their Savior have for God's Word to be spoken into their life for their spiritual growth, so we come alongside students through discipleship to point them to Jesus and help themrun their race to become more like Him.

Wednesdays: 6:00-7:30 pm Youth Bible Study

What you need to know:

Our students gather on Wednesday nights for a time of food, fellowship, fun and Bible study.

What to expect:

A typical Wednesday night for our students includes snacks and fellowship from 6:00-6:30 pm, followed by a game and a time of Bible study from 6:30-7:30 pm.

What is the Bible study life?

What we study on Wednesdays can vary. We have covered video-based studies, to topical studies based on current tends in youth culture, to going through a book of the bible verse by verse.

We elevate God’s word and faithfully teach it, because we believe it teaches the story of Jesus and our need for Him as our savior to save us from our sins (Acts 4:11-12), and we believe in the power of God’s word to speak into the lives of those who hear it (Hebrews 3:12).
